I usually check www.slickdeals.net just about every day for deals. I understand that most of the stuff on the “front page” isn’t something that everyone would want to take advantage of, but every now and then I’m looking to buy something and it shows up on there for a really cheap price. It works by people posting “hot deals” in a forum, then a moderator decided if it’s front page material or not. Deals range from a $250 laptop to $3.75 for a year’s subscription on ESPN magazine to free tacos at Jack-n-the-box. I’d guess most of the front page deals are electronics, but I believe it’s worth the look 1-2 times per day since it is always being updated.

First of all, I told you I read your blog!!! I used to check it everyday without question, but since you’ve slowed down a bit as of late…..I check it 5 to 6 times per week.
So I was wondering if you have found ALL of the deals on this site to be legit, or if some are just a tease taking you for a nice Sunday ride to nowhere??
And it works with a mediator who finds the deals all over the web and then posts them on this website?? That right??

If they are on the “front page” then they are 99% solid. If you click on the thread, you can read peoples comments on them. If there is somehting fishy about them, someone has posted about it. It works by people posting, moderator looking into it, and then putting it on the front page. The fishy deals will not make it to the front page and will stay in the forums. People will also leave a “thumbs down” if it’s not a good deal. The only deal I didn’t get was a Britax Marathon car seat for $42 from Target.com. These are normally $280 and they had a price mistake on their website. I got a $25 giftcard from Target as an apology.

You would get Target to issue you an “apology” gift card.
